Recent Renovation Projects on Laclede’s Landing
Since the founding of St. Louis in 1764, the area today known as Laclede’s Landing has continually evolved right alongside the city. Most recently, we’ve been focusing on updating and modernizing the Landing. From paving some of the historic brick roads for improved navigation to sprucing up vacant lots, developers and planners have been focusing on enhancing life on the Landing while showcasing the historic appeal of the neighborhood.
Historic Buildings
Years of History
Laclede’s Landing is well known for its hallmark brick streets. Unfortunately, some of those streets have become uneven over the years, making it difficult for many vehicles to navigate safely. While we’re restoring the brick surface on all roads on the Landing that run north to south, we’re updating all streets that run east to west with paved concrete to protect vehicles and improve traffic flow.
Along with making it easier to drive on the Landing, we’ve also focused on improving safety and security. You’ll notice security beacons placed throughout the Landing for rapid response in the event of an emergency, and a police substation has been permanently established on the Landing, just inside of the HoteLumière building.
Here’s a look at life on #LacledesLanding.
