The St. Louis Riverfront
At the Top of the List of Things to Do in St. Louis
It’s almost impossible to imagine Laclede’s Landing without the Mississippi River. You can see the river from virtually anywhere on the Landing. Laclede selected this spot more than 250 years ago as an ideal location for an outpost because it rose well above the water and stood just downriver from the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.
Today, you can enjoy the area for its beautiful river scenery, easy accessibility, and a dynamic variety of amenities that allow you to try something a little different every time you visit.
Open year-round, the St. Louis Riverfront Trail runs twelve miles alongside the Mississippi River and runs through the heart of Laclede’s Landing. Whether you want to walk, run, or bike, the trail offers an intimate perspective of the Mississippi River and the shoreline that you can’t find anywhere else, making it one of the top things to do in St. Louis.
Laclede’s Landing provides a perfect launch point with easy parking and access for a day trip to the trail. When you get back from the trail, you have a variety of restaurants to choose from and enjoy before the return home.
